Overview.

In my primary research, I investigate fruitful ways life outside of work—such as leisure, hobbies, family, and community— influences employee emotions, attitudes, and behaviors. I am intrigued by the complexities and synergies generated from a living a full life. I believe that we can create a more comprehensive understanding of employees if we broadly and thoughtfully investigate healthy and harmful stimuli that people face beyond the confines of their work.

In a secondary stream of work, I explore interpersonal dynamics at work, namely contemporary extensions to justice research. In this research stream, I theorize about the various ways issues of justice influence employees and their work environments.

A final research stream emerged from the nexus of my study of work non-work and justice that focuses on the role of complex emotions at work—such as nostalgia, pride, and gratitude—in explaining the relationships between experiences in and outside the workplace and important employee outcomes.
